What is ArCADia BIM LT11?

The main underlying idea driving the authors of the ArCADia system was to create a program which would allow the architect to save in an electronic form the effects of his creative thinking - regarding the form and functionality of the created object - in conjunction with the effects of the engineering work of the constructor and the mapping the actual elements resulting from the work of installers. All this is supported by computational tools in one integral model. It is difficult to overestimate the benefits of this design method. BIM (Building Information Modeling) has been written about in many publications. It is generally believed that the main recipients of the benefits are investors, contractors and future building administrators. However, the system created by us should already at the design stage give the designers new tools and control, that allow them to focus on the essence of the issue, not on the painstaking "drafting" processes. The structure of the ArCADia system allows all participants of the design process to work in one environment based on the main module, intended for all participants - ArCADia BIM. ArCADia BIM allows you to enter and manage all elements of the project, however, each industry has separate additional modules that take into account the particulars of specific industry projects.

The basic features of the ArCADia BIM program:

ArCADia BIM is the main module of the ArCADia system. This module consists of basic system tools, functions for creating the architectural and construction model, drawing functions for internal installations and an advanced CAD drawing engine.


Basic tools of the ArCADia BIM system:

  • Managing views and the displayed information through the clear tree of the Project Manager.
  • Inserting elements such as wall, pipe, etc. using the smart tracking function.
  • Showing elements drawn in the view in a classic or the new 3D view rendered in real time (visualization using a 3D game engine).
  • A smart list of the most often used commands (Smart TOP 10) that are automatically memorized when working on a project, creating a personalized tool palette.
  • The possibility to compare two versions of a project created as an ArCADia system model in the scope of new and modified system elements.
  • The possibility to merge the building model from an architectural design with the installation design models to create one complete model of a building project
  • Collisions list of all or individual ArCADia system elements on a view, 3D view and a clear list.
  • Built-in library that allows for detailing with 2D symbols and 3D objects needed in the drawing.
  • Creating and inserting drawing tables with the option of saving them to the program library
  • Saving custom settings for elements (pens, fonts, default element sizes, etc.) in the project template.

Architecture

  • Choice of defined or drawing any multilayer wall.
  • Built-in catalogue of construction materials based on the following standards: PN-EN 6946 and PN-EN 12524.
  • Inserting of window and door woodwork in a parametric way.
  • Inserting single chimney openings or shafts, i.e. groups of chimneys with a given number of columns and rows.
  • Automatic creation of rooms from the closed outlines of walls and virtual walls, with assigning names, functions, temperature and lighting demand.
  • Defining one- and multi-flight stairs and winder stairs in any view.
  • Inserting automatic ceilings on the closed external walls contour.
  • Creating a level with the possibility of copying selected elements.
  • Inserting an automatic roof on the closed external walls contour.
  • Inserting of roof windows and dormer windows.
  • Inserting woodwork and rooms lists.

Functions available in the additionally paid for ArCADia-ARCHITECTURE module:

  • Inserting single or multi-layer arched walls.
  • The ability to convert a 2D drawing created from a polyline or line into a single or multi-layer wall view, virtual walls and continuous footings.
  • Inserting windows of various shapes (circular, triangular, with an arch, etc.), including the possibility of setting horizontal and vertical divisions and defining the visibility of windowsills or cutting only an opening in a wall in the shape of a special window.
  • Inserting special doors, e.g. arched, with top or side lighting, rotating, sliding, swinging, emergency, etc.
  • Inserting openings and recesses.
  • Optional inserting of ceilings and floors on the ground.
  • Inserting suspended ceilings of any shape or automatically adapting one to a given room.
  • Inserting vertical, horizontal and tilted steel elements.
  • Inserting the bar structure framework from the .f3d file, which is seen as one element, but which can be exploded and seen as a single bar element (moved and edited individually).
  • Creating spiral stairs, ramps/slipways
  • Inserting balustrades on terraces and stairs by drawing them on the view.
  • Inserting multispan roofs with full editing capabilities (changes to pitched or monopitched roofs, changes in knee wall height and inclination for each roof slope separately).
  • Entering the wooden structure from the R3D3-Rama 3D program (roofs pieces exported to the R3D3-Rama 3D program are construction calculated there, and the entered framework goes back to ArCADia-ARCHITECTURE).
  • Inserting roof accessories: hatchways, gutters, downpipes, ridge titles etc.
  • Inserting strip footing and freely defined step footings.
  • Possibility to create a report on the sun exposure duration of all or selected rooms in the building.
  • Possibility to show the shading of buildings by creating a film made with any camera from the list, showing the transition of the shadow on a designated day or days.
  • Drawing any shape solid with a given height. The solid can be used as a terrace, landing, entresol, element, etc.
  • Automatic creation of cross-section by indicating the cutting line (also stepped) of the building with the option to define the elements visible in the cross-section view.
  • Simplified rendering (quick and easy to use) or advanced with the possibility of defining all necessary settings (type and position of lighting, softening shadows, etc.).
  • Automatic and manual dimensioning of the designed building. Possibility to enter spot height on a floor view and on the cross-section, as well as a description of the elements (roof, ceiling, wall) showing the list of materials from which the element was created.
  • Automatic description of the rafter framing structure, numbering of elements with showing the size of the cross-section and the element length.
  • Automatically created lists: areas and cubage; roof surfaces, roof accessories (gutters, downpipes, etc.), the roof structure wood, bar elements, suspended ceiling elements and materials.
  • Possibility of entering the spot height symbol and the direction of the north arrow on the view.
  • Object data exchange with the ArCon program.
  • Export of the project underlay to R3D3-Rama 3D, the ability to transfer all project roofs simultaneously with all modular axes joined into one grid.

Construction

  • Module for constructing the structural systems of Teriva ribbed-beam roofs, containing all the basic elements of the system: ceiling beams, reinforcing ribs, hidden ribs, exchanges, supporting mesh and additionally all necessary material lists including the elements needed to make the ceiling, completed with reinforcing steel and monolithic concrete .
  • Inserting the binding joist with the insertion of longitudinal reinforcement and stirrups.
  • Automatic 3D construction view created on the basis of a three-dimensional architectural model of a building.
  • Transferring both the location and the material as well as the bar cross-section to the construction view. Passing the remaining elements of the architectural model in the form of a rendered or translucent 3D view, and in the case of modular axes, bar elements and surface elements also in the form of their active underlay.

It is possible to simultaneously run several parallel conduits with different functions and connect them intelligently. Drawing simplifications that allow you to change the level of many elements of the installation at the same time.

  • Drawing facilitations that allow to quickly and easily create the approach of many outflows at the same time, depending on the method of connection and use of accessories. Selection of pipelines to braches for accessories for risers from manufacturers' catalogues.
  • Automatic generation of development: outflows, risers, connecting pipes with accessories along with fittings and sewage system devices. Possibility to edit and change objects from the drawing diagram level, as well as graphical editing.
  • Automatic generation of outlet pipe and riser profiles, including collisions with installations from other ArCADia system modules, including objects and connection fittings.
  • Calculation of section flows, fillings and speeds. Settings of diameters of drainage sections, risers, downpipes and slopes.
  • Generating calculation reports.

Gas Installations

  • Creating drawings of the internal gas installation, starting from locating the main gas box, distribution of gas appliances, measuring devices, by determining the pipeline route of the gas installation through determining the installation locations of the cut-off fittings.
  • Continuous entering of the route of vertical and horizontal sections of the installation, changing the level of many elements of the installation at the same time. Possibility of introducing typical element layouts into the program library.
  • Inserting fittings and devices from the manufacturers' library (eg gas filter and pressure reducer).
  • Automatic generation of a set of connection fittings depending on the type of connections in the junction points and connecting pipes to draw-off points, along with the possibility of modifying them.

Functions available in the additionally paid for ArCADia- GAS INSTALLATIONS module

  • Transforming an installation drawn with lines in a CAD environment into pipelines that are objects in the ArCADia system.
  • Setting of the calculated gas demand for a gas-supplied building with any combustible properties including the coincidence factor.
  • Calculation of the total pressure loss for all gas receiver paths and setting of the minimum and maximum pressure before the gas appliance.
  • Generating calculation diagrams for all gas supply paths to receivers, along with the possibility of their clarification.
  • Automatic creation of a drawing for the development of a designed gas installation.
  • Automatic creation of an axonometry drawing of the designed installation. The possibility of inserting the fittings directly on the axonometry drawing, with automatic inclusion on the view and in the lists.

Heating Installations

  • Making drawings of the internal heating installation, from the heat source, through the heating meter and pipelines, to the necessary fittings.

Communication

  • Reading and saving drawings in the AutoCAD format from 2.5 to 2018 (DWG, DXF).
  • Importing and editing raster images (eg geodesic underlay), including files such as : JPG, TIF, BMP, GIF, PNG.

  • Possibility to enlarge the library of 2D / 3D objects with the following formats: XOBJECT, ACO, O2C, OBJ, XOBJ3D and DWG.

Drawing tools - an extended CAD drawing engine:

  • Drawing only in the X, Y plane (for Z = 0).
